1931 Chevy Independence Series LT, 1 1/2 ton 157" WB dual rear wheels
After years of searching for just the "right" truck, I came across this one in Sioux City Iowa. Admittedly a pick up might be better, but with the sheet metal being the same and with a heavy duty frame, this will work out well. In the long run, may even be better as the ultimate build direction can go in several different directions. Now that I'm starting with a complete truck, I have a clean title for registering it when complete, the cab only would have meant a bunch more work getting it titled and registered as a home built.
This is the original cab we purchased at a local swap meet and has been stored in the barn ever since. I'm still researching and learning about these commercial trucks and I'm finding seveal diffenent body styles all being called the samething. The cab parts I have I don't believe actually go together, but would work for a hot rod. I'll use these parts for repairing the new truck and sell off what I don't need to someone who can use them.
Detail shots to work with in "photo shop" to design the ultimate hot rod some day. I use a scale stick in most images for aid in proportioning the images when enlarging them and cut an paste.
