1974 1/2 MGB GT
For several years now, my buddy Jeff and I have been attending the summer auto auction at the Owls Head Transportation Museum in Owls Head Maine.
At the 2013 auction, this nice MGB GT came across the blocks and I decided to have a go at it. I always liked the MGB body style but I hate convertibles, so the notion of the GT model made sense, well at least in my mind it did.
Yes you are correct, the images of when I bought it has the “Rubber” bumpers and I have installed the earlier “Chrome” bumpers, because I like them better. The MG also got a new interior and a set of my JAXCARS.NET lowering "A" arms.

See the detail shots page that covers all the work that went into this project.
Fast forward to the spring of 2016, I had picked up the 1931 truck, and I was having issues with my lower back and left knee making getting in and out of the little MG very difficult and sometime painful, so I sold the MG. I had it listed for several months on the typical auto sell sites with no serious action. It was getting close to that year's Owls Head action, so I looked into cosigning it to them. I also looked into an on-line action site and was ready to sign up for that when I decided to place an add in the local newspaper. The phone rings and it is a local woman who's husband had been wanting to replace an MGB they had many years ago. We arrange a meeting in a local parking lot, they walk up to the MG and walk around it once, make the comment it was just like the one they had, same blue and autumn color combination. They make an offer that was a little less than what I had advertised it for but a whole bunch more than I was willing to take, SOLD....
